Ha, I am really getting somewhere with my cushion-for-that-one-chair from this pattern. And how I enjoy my first attempt at crocheting! Far from perfect but as I stated before: I do not suffer from perfectionism and I am thoroughly enjoying myself.
Ha, t wordt al echt wat met dat kussen-voor-die-ene-stoel met dit patroon. Ik heb toch zo’n plezier met de eerste poging met haken! Nouja, verre van perfect maar zoals ik al eerder gezegd heb: ik lijd niet aan perfectionisme en ik vermaak me er prima mee.
And those blocked Granny Squares look so pretty, especially on a dreary,rainy day;0) The hard part comes after this: putting it all together. I have a question for the experienced crocheter : is the single crochet the best method?

Your squares are so beautiful; I love the colours! Unfortunately, I don’t know how to crochet, although it’s been on my list of “things to learn” for years. I know someone out there will be able to help you out, though!
I’ve decided I’m going to finally take up knitting this winter – a co-worker of mine has offered to teach me. I’m so nervous that I will be a poor student, but I really want to try!

Ha,I can give you a piece of advise…the advise I gave to all the students I taught knitting. DO NOT BE AFRAID OF THE NEEDLES AND YARN! And than: first do the knitting very slowly: speed will come naturally when you have mastered the stitches. And invest in good natural yarn and a good pair of needles. It is very hard to knit with cheap acrylic yarn. Think of your garden skills: a tiny seed makes a beautiful plant…and now I sound like a Yoda from Star Wars;0) Enjoy your lessons in knitting in the long Canadian winter! Using single crochet will create a thick border between your pieces. If you like that look, then it’s a good, fast way to join.
