    I’m sorry to hear of your flu. What is sometimes recommended in Germany against it is to drink a “Grog” – a mixture of Rum, water [hot] and sugar. Here’s my recipe for it, with a twinkle in my eye: Rum MUST be in it, sugar CAN be in it, and water isn’t really necessary! πŸ˜‰ What does help, though, to my mind, is to drink something hot and then go to bed and keep warm. Since the body already tries to fight the flu with raising its temperature [fever], the hot fluid helps the body do just that.
    Anyway: I really wish you’ll get over it soon. Take best of care, get yourself pampered, and have a good weekend,

I agree with hot fluids and fever fighting and your recipe is good one! ;0) Although I do not hope you will get the flu, if you do so I have a recipe for you as well and it might appeal to your German heart: hot chocolate with a splash of Jaegermeister. It will get you sound a sleep . Maybe something to try when the Texan temperatures finally have dropped..
