In the Garden

‘The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just on the body, but the soul.’

It is the first time we moved to a house that has an established garden. It needs a little TLC because it has been left alone for a couple of weeks and in this nice hot and humid weather with a lot of rain, all plants and weeds will grow fast.

I pruned the ‘everlasting’ roses last week right away and look, in full bloom again!

How I enjoy all the flowers, even an ugly spot looks lovely!

Not sure about the fountain: it seems a bit out of place. What do you think: relocate, remove or just leave it where it is?

Love and Liefs, Johanna.

  1. I bet they had the fountain so the birds could get water. that is my guess since it is so close to the bird feeders 🙂 Annie

    • I totally agree, Annie! However, those bird feeders are mine and the previous owners had hung theirs in the darkest spots of the garden. Together with the bird feeders, it does attract a lot of birds and I can watch it right from my living room window. hmm, you got me thinking! Thanks, Johanna.

  2. Thank you Sheryl for stopping by and leaving a lovely compliment! Coming from an excellent gardener like you, I am ever so pleased. And I have never seen roses who are so easy to please: just pruned them and of they go again in full bloom, adorable indeed;0)

  3. Thank you Christina, and yes I am so pleased with this house and its pleasant garden. And I agree: it makes every thing taste some much better when you can enjoy it al fresco;0) hug to you too
